Be prepared to exercise your front-end and backend web development skills as we design, build, and launch these applications.\nResponsibilities:\nEssential Functions\nServes in a leadership capacity as an individual contributor for carrying out software development in relevant web application languages (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Java) or other selected languages for new web applications\nMay serve as a Lead Software Engineer for complex software development project designs and/or reviews architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving capability/performance of existing functionality\nDecomposes functional requirements into well-defined tasks\nResearches fundamental problems and implements algorithm solutions that are appropriate\nOffers peer technical assessments in areas of expertise, new technologies and software designs\nAssists design engineering as needed with component datasheet review and schematic design review\nParticipates in project leadership and/or program planning including providing technical input to product development plans and concept documents\nMakes substantial contributions toward determination of project goal/objective feasibility and applies good judgment in setting schedules/risk taking\nMentors and provides guidance to less experienced Software Engineers (1 & 2)\nContributes to advanced technical research on new technologies\nOffers process improvement suggestions and authors new procedures as appropriate\nProvides reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using sound problem solving techniques\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Math, Physics or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience\nExperience in writing software in Typescript, Javascript and/or Python\nDemonstrated capability in design and development of full stack web applications including frontend and backend components (e.g., web user interfaces, REST APIs, and database queries)\nMastered proficiency in writing software in modern web development frameworks such as Node.js, React, Vue, Django, Angular, or Flask\nDemonstrated competence with agile and scrum methodologies\nDemonstrated capability in anticipating and meeting business needs and interacting with business stakeholders\nDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\nMust be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment\nDesired Qualifications\nA strong grasp of DevOps and automated software delivery principles such as continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) and test automation frameworks\nA fundamental understanding of performance, scalability, and security concerns related to web applications\nDemonstrated proficiency with software engineering tools, including configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators and simulators\nFamiliarity with agentic AI patterns, including tool-using agents, function calling, and multi-step reasoning workflows; coupled with a disciplined approach to validating and critically reviewing AI-generated outputs\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
