Engineer","description":"POSITION TITLE: Controls Engineer\n\nDEPARTMENT: Engineering\n\nACCOUNTABILITY: Engineering Manager\n\nJOB SUMMARY\nPlans, directs and coordinates technical aspects of manufacturing processes in operation of plant to ensure on-time product launches and shipments.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelops estimates for equipment, processes, tooling and labor for new products or changes to existing products\nReview projects including quotes, job specifications and resolves any differences in-between\nSystems Architecture including non-standard material and control panel power requirements & distributions\nReviews specifications and standard practices – inclusive of internal hardwired and logic standards.\nMaterial ordering responsibilities, including advanced orders\nAssisting with Installation\nDebugging, launch, standby\nAbility to work on a team and independent\nAnalyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.\nParticipates with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.\nConfers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.\nEstimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.\nCoordinates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.\nApplies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.\nDesigns tools, fixtures, product/part, and machines.\nPerforms manufacturing cost estimating and feasibility studies.\nImplements productivity and efficiency improvements.\nAssists in establishing advanced quality engineering standards and procedures\nTakes the lead role in project development and implementation\nParticipates in cross-functional teams procuring new technology, equipment, and processes, launching new processes and production equipment.\nDevelopment and application of advanced technology.\nEmpowerment to initiate corrective actions when problems which impact the quality of the product and /or quality system are identified.\nCoordinates all activities of assigned project to meet timing and budget constraints.\nInitiates and completes ECN's for new or existing products/processes.\nResponsible for adherence to all company safety and housekeeping rules.\n\nSKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS\nBachelor of Science in Engineering, manufacturing experience preferred but not required. 3 – 5 years of experience.\nMust have strong analytical skills, problem solving skills and communication skills.\nKnowledge in mechanical principles, machining practices, assembly and fabrication techniques, PPAP, and FMEA.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nPhysical demands required: Occasional lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, and fingering.\nEnvironmental conditions: Exposure to noise, atmospheric conditions and moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools or
