At Tech(x), every team member plays an important role in delivering exceptional support to our customers and warfighters.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nServe as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for advanced waveform analysis, RF propagation, and Transmission Security (TRANSEC) techniques.\n\nUtilize MATLAB, Python, SignalHound, and other RF analysis tools to capture, process, and analyze RF signals and waveform performance.\n\nDesign, architect, and prototype end-to-end RF systems in laboratory environments using Software Defined Radios (SDRs), Faraday enclosures, and specialized RF test equipment.\n\nDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans for tactical radio systems, including High Assurance and SBU-E communications systems.\n\nConduct interoperability, security, performance, and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) assessments in contested Electronic Warfare (EW) environments.\n\nSupport the integration, evaluation, and security assessment of emerging 5G technologies within tactical military communications architectures.\n\nDevelop innovative waveform obfuscation and TRANSEC methodologies to improve tactical communications security.\n\nCollaborate with government stakeholders, Program Managers, vendors, and technical teams to deliver advanced RF capabilities to operational users.\n\nValidate technical inputs, establish analytical methodologies, ensure quality technical outputs, and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.\n\nRepresent Army and DoW interests in technical working groups, spectrum management forums, and engineering committees.\n\nPresent complex technical findings and recommendations to both technical and executive-level audiences.\n\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of RF engineering best practices.\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualifications\n\nDemonstrated expertise in Radio Frequency (RF) engineering supporting Department of War or Department of Defense communications systems.\n\nKnowledge of 4G/5G cellular technologies, architectures, RF interfaces, and their application within tactical and secure communications environments.\n\nExperience conducting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) analyses for spectrum-dependent military systems.\n\nProficiency with MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages used to augment RF modeling and simulation capabilities.\n\nKnowledge of high-assurance and SBU-E tactical radio systems including:\n\nSilvus Technologies\n\nPersistent Systems\n\nL3Harris\n\nThales\n\nTrellisware\n\nFamiliarity with proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO) communications capabilities including Starshield and Space Development Agency (SDA) architectures.\n\nIn-depth understanding of waveform development, analysis, and RF communications protocols.\n\nKnowledge of tactical messaging formats, waveform propagation characteristics, and radio networking principles.\n\nFamiliarity with Communications Security (COMSEC) principles and secure tactical communications architectures.\n\nKnowledge of Department of War, Army, or Service-specific spectrum-dependent communications and navigation systems.\n\nUnderstanding of RF propagation models, spectrum engineering principles, and frequency management.\n\nKnowledge of NTIA Redbook spectrum allocation requirements and regulatory frameworks.\n\nStrong written, verbal, presentation, and technical briefing skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nMaster’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline.\n\nExperience supporting Army tactical communications modernization initiatives.\n\nExperience supporting Electronic Warfare (EW), tactical networking, or spectrum operations programs.\n\nExperience integrating commercial 5G technologies into military communications environments.\n\nExperience developing advanced waveforms or secure tactical communications solutions.\n\nPrior experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.\n\nExperience presenting technical recommendations to senior government leadership.\n\nClearance\nEducation & Experience\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, Technology, Mathematics, or related technical field.\n\n10+ years of progressive experience in Radio Frequency Engineering, tactical communications, spectrum management, waveform analysis, or related engineering disciplines.\n\nDemonstrated experience supporting military communications, tactical radio systems, and RF modernization initiatives.\n\nLocation\n\nMonday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
