CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process. To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.Prepares the operating room and patient for the surgical procedure by applying principles and techniques of asepsis to work assignments; sets up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes and solutions; assists with scrubbing, preparation of sterile field, gowning/gloving members of the surgical team.Helps the surgeon and any assistants put on their surgical gowns and gloves.Assists with positioning and draping of patient under direction of qualified practitioner.Assists with comfort and safety measures under direction of qualified practitioner.Transfers and positions patient to operating room table and covers them with sterile surgical drapes.Assists anesthesia personnel as needed under the direction of qualified practitioner.Job RequirementsRequired:Graduation from surgical technology program accredited through Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology ARC-ST., upon hireSurgical Technologist Registration: WA, upon hireBasic Life Support - CPR through the American Heart Association, upon hireGraduation from an accredited school of nursing may be substituted for graduation from an accredited surgical technician program., and RN License: WA, upon hirePreferred:2 years of OR experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities6 months of Cardiac experienceWhere You'll WorkVirginia Mason Franciscan Health has a rich history of providing exceptional healthcare, dating back to 1891.
