We are looking for a talented and experienced Contract Attorney with a strong background in US contract drafting to be part of its growing LegalTech team, based in California, United States of America.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and revise a wide range of contracts governed by US law, with a high level of autonomy, precision, and consistency, ensuring alignment with US and California legal requirements and best practicesIdentify drafting issues and propose improvements to enhance the quality, reliability, and consistency of contract templates and automated contractual outputsProvide structured legal input to support the development and refinement of AI-assisted contract drafting toolsWork independently and asynchronously in a fast-paced start up environment, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and attention to detailEssential QualificationsJ.D. from an ABA-accredited law schoolActive California Bar license (required)At least 4 years of experience as an attorney in a US law firm and/or in-house role, with a strong focus on contractual and/or corporate mattersStrong, autonomous contract drafting and review skills across commercial and corporate agreementsExcellent legal drafting skills in EnglishPreferred QualificationsExperience in AI, Tech, or LegalTech companiesExcellent legal drafting skills in Spanish.Exposure to contract automation, template-based drafting, or review of automated outputsFamiliarity with multi-jurisdictional or international contract structuresRole Scope ClarificationThis is an in-house LegalTech position (no litigation, no client representation, no billable hours).Salary & CompensationAnnual Salary: USD 190,000 – $260,000 (commensurate with experience and specialization).We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are an equal-opportunity employer.By applying, you confirm that you have read and accepted our Candidate Privacy Policy here: https://www.laine.ai/candidate-privacy-policy
