Reviews and provides reports from Dispatchers. Directly supervisor radio dispatch functions. Handles escalated radio or phone calls from Operators and Customers in both the Dispatch and Reservations areas as needed.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nMonitors radio channels and responds to Operational need for day of service.\nMonitors Dispatch daily performance directing Operational changes to improve efficiencies and minimize issues on day of service.\nMaintain a positive working relationship and communication with internal staff, Customers, Operators and Client agency personnel.\nAbility to delegate and prioritize the assignments of work to Dispatchers.\nMust be able to independently supervise Call Center Dispatch staff.\nAssist Management in Dispatcher scheduling to ensure department and functions are staffed in accordance with operational needs. May at times backup daily functions for Dispatch, Reservations, and Scheduling in cases of staff absences or operational needs.\nReviews Dispatch reports to ensure accuracy and completion and that all departments receive necessary reports including Safety, Operations and Maintenance.\nRequires the ability to assume the daily functions of Dispatch or Reservations should operational need arise. Assist with training in-coming Dispatchers and re-training requirements of existing team members as needed.\nEscalate performance concerns of Dispatch staff to management.\nFoster a team environment.\nExperience and preferred skills:\n1 yr. of Supervisory experience (Transportation experience preferred)\n1 yr. experience working in Transit Radio Dispatch communications center.\nExperience leading a team to achieve business objectives.\nWorking knowledge of Trapeze software.\nHigh School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.\nAbility to work in fast-paced, dead-line oriented team environment.\nAbility to obtain knowledge of Greater Portland Metro area.\nProficient in use of common office computer system including MS Office.\nDemonstrate ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of Employees engaged in various activities.\nAbility to work weekends and flexible shifts as needed.\nDemonstrate ability to identify and understand problems and determine the appropriate measures it takes to solve problems.\nConsiderable interpersonal skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and oral.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nAbility to manage customer relations, providing strong customer service skills for managing immediate needs of Operators and Customers.\nWork Schedule:\nThe specific schedule currently is Friday through Monday from 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on business need and may be a 4- or 5-day role. Position is full-time, overseeing a 24/7 radio control/dispatch operation. Requires flexibility in working days and hours including working non-traditional business hours such as early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.\n\nPre-Employment Requirements:\nDrug testing and background check.\nDOT Drug and Alcohol Testing required.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nConstantly sitting\nOccasionally standing, walking, squat/kneel, bend, reaching above shoulder\nFrequent reaching outward\nNoise level – Continuous noise, moderate volume.\nWork environment that requires multiple people talking in close proximity using two-way radio/communication systems, telephone, video and other commuter aided communication systems.\nLifting to 10lbs.
