All initial work will be closely supervised and supported by other team members to facilitate training and quality assurance. The position will support the external sales team while learning about the HVAC industry and building automation systems. This is an \"inside sales & applications support\" position where inbound phone calls and e-mails from the external sales team, building owners, consulting engineers and contractors are responded to in a cordial and technically sound manner. In addition, the Application Engineer will initiate calls to customers to ask about technical issues with respect to orders, request for quotation, and specifications. The ability to write well is important for this position, as is the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. This position requires a very service-oriented person, who enjoys helping clients and engineers solve their technical HVAC challenges.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Works cooperatively and constructively with our external sales team, project manager and service group to meet annual sales goals and to ensure customer satisfaction.Develops and maintains strong technical and applications expertise with all of Accuspec represented products.Prepares quotations and responds to technical inquiries in a timely manner in response to customer requests. Supports our external sales team in these efforts as wellAble to read and comprehend an engineering specification/drawing and suggest the appropriate Accuspec products to quote and submit, including pointing out exceptions to the specification.Supports the preparation of submittal packages and special wiring & installation diagrams for customers as required.Provides technical support and assistance to our Project Management and Service group; especially on large or complex projects.Provides direct support for high profile projects and technical service issues as required.Occasionally attends trade shows in a supporting role, along with a senior associate.Assists service department with technical troubleshooting and product returns as required.Provides project plans and specification reviews to estimate projects, prepare estimates and proposals in support of the external sales team.Participates in training seminars.Travel required to job sites occasionally in the NortheastQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline is preferred; a 2-year technical degree and 2+ years of related experience will be consideredKnowledge of the HVAC building automation industry is a plusStrong computer skills requiredBEHAVIORAL PROFILELanguage SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
