Non CDL Driver Job SummaryAs a non CDL Driver, you will create company and customer success by delivering our fresh fruit and produce orders, along with any other ancillary items included on customer orders, to their respective delivery locations. You may, at times, be asked to back haul product.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTransport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centersRepresent Carbonella & DeSarbo, Inc. in a professional, responsible, and respectful manner while driving and interacting with customersInspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenancePlan routes and meet delivery schedulesDocument and log work/rest periods and kilometers/miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receiptsComply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and proceduresManeuver trucks into loading or unloading positionsCollect and verify delivery instructionsReport defects, accidents or violationsOffload product using a pallet jack, forklift, hand truck, by hand, or other method depending upon available equipmentBreakdown loads by hand at some customer locations, depending upon customer needsClearly indicate customer returns on customer invoices, and call into office with any and all customer returnsCollect money, in the form of cash or check, where required, indicating the dollar amount and form of payment on each invoiceDrive and work in inclement weather conditionsQualifications and RequirementsPossession of a valid state issued driver's licenseProven work experience as a truck driverAbility to drive long hours and travel regularlyExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulationsNo recent moving or driving violationsAdaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendationsDriving record with no more than 6 penalty points within the last three (3) yearsPass a DOT certified medical examMay require demonstrated ability and proficiency operating a standard 10-speed transmissionAbility to maintain physical balance to safely enter and exit transported vehiclesAbility to apply pressure to winch down transported vehicles during the loading processPhysical Demands and AbilitiesPrimarily working in an outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditionsExtended periods of time sitting during driving transport equipment; repeatedly climbing up and down from transport equipmentRegularly lift and/or move objects 10-75 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.Flexible work hours with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidaysFollow all O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposal in required areasFrequently required to enter and exit large refrigerated coolers, as well as work in warehouse open to outdoor temperatures during shipping and/or receiving.
