Die Cut Operator Trainee

Job description The Die Cut Operator Trainee is responsible for learning the setup and operation of new Bobst Mastercut die cutters for the folding carton industry. Follows safe, efficient work practices and ensures quality product with minimal scrap rates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to OSHA guidelines on Safety, Hazard Mitigation, Personal Protective Equipment, and proper Machine Operation Continue machine operations when main operators are on break. Learn to perform set-ups and operate machines that die cut paperboard carton materials. Operate an aerator and stage upcoming loads for die cutters. Inspect and stage tooling prior to job. Help perform machine setup including cutting and stripping die installation, in process quality control, paper stock inspection, machine loading and finished goods inspection. Monitor and manage the effectiveness and accuracy of cutting, and area maintenance. Confirmation of accuracy and completeness of order. Ensure cleanliness of work area, ensuring GMP guidelines are consistently satisfied. Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 50lbs Work effectively with others in a team setting Grow and learn as a trainee to become a full time machine operator. Complete job tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Education: High School Diploma, GED or relevant years of experience. Technical Skills: Able to perform troubleshooting to diagnose and correct quality problems. Experience with hand tools. Able to understand heavy equipment maintenance and operations. Experience: Mechanical experience or machine operation Die Cut experience is preferred however training is provided. Job promotions and pay level increases occur with training, experience and resulting performance. Experience working in a manufacturing environment, meeting production performance indicators. Core Competencies: Be able to perform calculator math functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide) Accurately read and use measuring devices Visually inspect product and equipment against set criteria.
