{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2f1eef7f8361a6c658a9b1ca","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2f1eef7f8361a6c658a9b1ca","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2f1eef7f8361a6c658a9b1ca","title":"Network Engineer","description":"Description:\n\nPrimary Location: Rosslyn, VA or Springfield, VA\n\nClearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility\n\nAbility to work remotely: No\n\nObsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking an Engineer to support and collaborate with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) evaluates new technologies and possible security vulnerabilities associated with them.\n\nSpecific Responsibilities\n\nEvaluates new technologies and possible security vulnerabilities associated with them.\nAssist in the planning of policies and guidelines involving state-of-the-art equipment and their possible implementation in State Department resources.\nResponsible for testing the vulnerabilities associated with the software applications and hardware for networks.\nWorks with a laboratory focused local area network.\nDesigns and deploys network and video infrastructure cabling.\nMust be able to analyze computer and network architectures to optimize network performance, security, and laboratory testing functionality.\nMust have excellent oral and writing communication skills in order to document for senior Department of State managers the testing procedures, results, and recommendations for implementing tested technologies securely.\nMust be able to troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software issues in a timely manner while under tight time and resource constraints.\nMust be able to research, test, review, and report on emergent technologies.\nRequirements:\nMust have a current Interim Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government final TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance and be able to qualify for SCI access.\nMust be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals.\nMust have five (5) years of experience and a master’s degree in computer science or engineering, or at least ten years of equivalent work experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent work experience.\nMust have experience in the following: configuring, designing, and maintaining Window servers; designing, configuring, and testing personal computer and network software components in a laboratory environment; programming software and command line interfaces; and setting up patch management software and backup management solutions.\nMust be fluent in VMWare, C, C++, Objective C, Java, communication protocol implementation, Wi-Fi, RFID, Bluetooth, TCP-IP, VoIP, and Linux/Windows/OSX scripting.\nMust have experience with commercial and government best practices in securing computers, networks, and mobile devices.\nMust know how to use all major MS Windows applications.\nMust have detailed understanding and experience in Android/iOS/Blackberry operating systems.\nMust understand system architecture, application design, and device management and deployment.\nMust have knowledge of active directory application mode, lightweight directory access protocol, and online certificate status protocol.\nMust have knowledge of bandwidth utilization.\n\nPhysical Requirements and Work Environment\n\nNormal office environment\n\nTravel\n\nMay be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training, or maintenance at diplomatic facilities.
