Sr. Accountant
DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a reputable CPA firm in New Braunfels, Texas. This role combines hands-on accounting work with direct client interaction, requiring strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a high standard of accuracy. The position is primarily office-based and offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple engagements while building trusted relationships with clients and internal team members.Responsibilities:- Prepare accurate financial statements for a range of business and individual client accounts.- Manage recurring bookkeeping activities on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles while keeping records current and organized.- Complete reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and loan balances to ensure ledger accuracy.- Record and review journal entries, maintain general ledger integrity, and support month-end close activities.- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including payment processing and check issuance when needed.- Prepare and file sales tax reports and payments in accordance with monthly and quarterly deadlines.- Assist with year-end reporting by compiling information for Forms 1096 and 1099.- Examine engagement documentation and client financial records for completeness, consistency, and quality.- Work directly with clients to gather information, provide updates, and deliver financial data in a timely and thorough manner.Why consider this role?+ Voted one of the best firms in New Braunfels for 5+ years+ Long-standing, stable firm with strong tenure+ Significant investment in training and development, including strong support to those pursuing a CPA+ Clear path to growth, including potential leadership of bookkeeping team+ Flexible scheduling for family needs outside of busy seasonsRequirements- At least 7 years of accounting experience in a structured work environment.- Bachelor's degree preferred- Practical experience with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.- Ability to manage multiple client assignments, stay highly organized, and maintain strict attention to detail.- Effective communication skills, sound analytical ability, and the discretion to handle confidential information appropriately.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
