We approach everyone with compassion and an open mind to encourage them to thrive in their healing process.Position Purpose Summary: The Human Resources & Compliance Specialist provides strategic oversight of all HR functions to support the mission and goals of KIHS. This role ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws, drives organizational effectiveness through the implementation of HR systems and policies, and leads a diverse HR team in delivering high-quality services to the campus community. The specialist develops and manages talent acquisition strategies, employee relations, benefits programs, and performance management, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment. Serving as the primary liaison for labor relations and workplace accommodations, this position plays a key role in aligning HR practices with institutional priorities and promoting a positive organizational culture. Charles Street, Suite 804, Baltimore, MD 21201Leads a staff of managerial, professional, and clerical employees responsible for providing all HR services to the campus communityDevelops methods for collecting feedback internally on program satisfaction and modifies programs as neededUtilizes available technology to maximize operational efficiencies and provide enhanced delivery of HR services to the campus communityActs as a liaison in assisting employees with workplace accommodations under federal and local disability lawsManages, tracks, and ensures compliance with all Affirmative Action plans for the UniversityWorks closely with the Compliance Officer on related mattersDevelops, implements, and manages all HR policies in a consistent and fair methodDesigns recruitment strategies with campus administrators to encourage highly qualified individuals to apply for faculty and staff vacanciesProvides guidance to hiring managers and search committees with the interview and selection processFacilitates communications between and among employees and management including counseling, conflict resolution, meeting facilitation, and team buildingMonitors the annual review process to verify that all employees receive performance evaluationsPlans new employee orientation programs to foster a positive attitude toward the KIHS’s mission, while introducing new personnel to important institutional policiesServes as the KIHS’s primary contact for all labor relations issues and union negotiations A: 11637 Terrace Drive, Suite 201, Waldorf, MD 20602 A: 4301 Garden City Drive, Suite 303 Landover, MD 20785 A: 1800 N.
