The West Liberty Community School District has an anticipated opening for a shared High School/Middle School Spanish teacher for the 2026/2027 School YearANTICIPATED SHARED HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL SPANISH TEACHERQualifications9-12 Iowa teaching license endorsed in 5-12 or 7-12 Spanish requiredMust believe that all students can learnMust possess a collaborative natureMust understand the importance of culture in a high school and its effect on academicsMust be an innovative, passionate, and energetic individualSuccessful prior teaching experience at the high school level preferred but not requiredSuccessful experience working with diverse learners including Special Education and ESLJob DescriptionPlans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of studentsDevelops lessons in Spanish for native Spanish speakers, dual language learners, and second language learnersAligns lessons with ACTFL standards, ELP standards, and Iowa CoreCreates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of studentsEmploys methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectivesAssess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reportsAttend staff meetings and serve on committees as requiredDevelop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnelStrives to maintain and improve professional competenceWorks collaboratively with content area/grade level teamsFull-time position, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year
