{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2ecc0bc3db5340f664a052f5","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2ecc0bc3db5340f664a052f5","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2ecc0bc3db5340f664a052f5","title":"Software Certification Engineer 3","description":"Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Software Certification Engineers (Level3) for a contract opportunity in Long Beach, CA.\r\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):\r\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\r\n3+ years' experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and agile software engineering best practices*\r\n3+ years' experience developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems\r\n3+ years' experience leading software development projects\r\nExperience using common software version control tools such as Git, or equivalent\r\nExperience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, GITLAB, or similar\r\nDomain expertise in either Interior Cabins, Seats, In Flight Entertainment systems or Onboard Network Systems\r\nExperience with Aviation Standards DO-178C and DO-254 – must have requirement\r\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nGenerate Software Components (PDIs), User Modifiable Software (UMS) and/or Field Loadable software in response to modifications requested at aircraft level in compliance with DO-178B/C\r\nReview and approve suppliers' software lifecycle data (i.e. software architecture, software design document, software requirement document) throughout software lifecycle processes; from planning, requirements, development/implementation, verification and certification phases\r\nOversee and verify the compliance preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation required for certification\r\nWork collaboratively and transparently with regulatory representatives, client EUMs suppliers and global client sites to ensure all systems and software designs comply not only with stringent regulatory requirements and safety standards but also with client's internal standards\r\nMonitor project progress and performance, ensuring that engineering solutions are delivered on time and meet all safety and certification milestones\r\nPerform and lead activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems\r\nLead development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics\r\nParticipate in industry working groups to develop industry guidance and standards as well as authoring internal design practice documentation and standards\r\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):\r\n5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)\r\n5+ years of experience as, or working with Designated Engineering Representative (DER), or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist or EASA/FAA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) or equivalent\r\n5+ years of Experience across Software Lifecycle Data Items, and Software standards such DO-330 and DO-331\r\nCurrent Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist or Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE)\r\nExperience using common software version control tools such as Git, or equivalent\r\nExperience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, GITLAB, or similar\r\nREQUIRED EDUCATION\r\nMinimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (e.g. Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification).
