Production Supervisor
Production SupervisorThe Production Supervisor supports Holtec's manufacturing operations by directing and coordinating the daily activities of manufacturing associates in a heavy steel industrial environment. This role is responsible for overseeing welders, fabricators, inspectors, painters, laborers, machinists, and machine operators to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The Production Supervisor manages day-to-day manufacturing operations with a strong focus on safety, people leadership, quality, customer responsiveness, and cost control. This position requires prior supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across personnel, schedules, and production demands.Location: East Pittsburgh, PA Holtec Manufacturing DivisionPrimary Responsibilities:Lead and manage manufacturing associates to achieve production, quality, safety, delivery, and cost objectivesPlan, schedule, and assign work using drawings, specifications, work orders, and production data to ensure efficient material flow and on-time deliveryTrain, certify, and re-certify associates in safe equipment setup, operation, and work procedures; conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary matters per company policyDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost reduction initiativesMaintain accountability for equipment, tooling, materials, and work areas, coordinating maintenance support and ensuring clean, organized operationsInterpret blueprints, specifications, and production requirements; analyze schedules, reports, and performance metrics to evaluate output and adjust plansPartner with Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering to implement and maintain Holtec quality standardsMonitor daily operations to ensure compliance with production, processing, safety, and quality requirementsMaintain required production and quality records; support off-shift operations including nights, weekends, and overtime as neededRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, or High School Diploma with 3+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and costStrong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organizationProven experience leading production teams with accountability for safety, performance, quality, customer responsiveness, and costAbility to collaborate effectively with management, engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve operational goalsStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionWorking knowledge of ASME Codes preferred; familiarity with ASNT standards and NDT/NDE methods preferredAbility to meet physical demands of a manufacturing environment, including extended standing/walking, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to dust, cold, and uneven surfacesAbility to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to a flexible scheduleA Generation Ahead by Design Investing in people who power the future.
