This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on accounting work and improving financial systems as a company scales. You will work directly with company leadership and will have significant ownership over financial processes. You will dive into the unique processes of each channel of business and implement efficient workflows and tools to increase accuracy and speed of financial data. You will manage one accountant and will advise on how/when accounting team needs to grow. Your CPG accounting experience and desire for constant improvement will help Calyans financials be timely and accurate through fast scaling./ph3Core Functions/h3ulliMonthly, Quarterly, and Annual Close/liliAccrual and General Ledger Workbooks/liliAccounting Workflow/Process Management/liliFinancial Statement Prep/liliFPA Support/li/ulh3Duties:/h3ulliManage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process./liliMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies./liliPrepare journal entries and supporting documentation./liliMonitor accounting processes and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls./liliPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP./liliAssist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis./liliEnsure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations./liliManage trade spend accrual and prepaid workbooks./liliCollaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting./liliSupport the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reporting./liliSupport internal and external audit processes and provide required documentation./liliSelect AP and AR work as support is needed from bookkeeper./liliSOP Managementmaintain accurate documentation of core accounting processes included month, quarter, and annual close checklists./li/ulh3Key Competencies:/h3ulliBachelors degree in accounting or finance./lili5+ years of accounting experience in omni-channel CPG businesses selling through distributors, Amazon, DTC, and retailers directly./liliStrong understanding of GAAP./liliExperience with ERP systems./liliAdvanced Excel proficiency./li/ulpStarting Salary: $75K-$100K based on experience/ppSchedule: 3 days in office (Arlington, TX), 2 days optional remote, Monday - Friday/ph3Benefits:/h3ulliPaid Holidays: 10 paid holidays per year (details provided in the Employee Handbook)./liliPaid Time Off (PTO): Flexible/Unlimited PTO./lili401(k) Plan: Available to employees after completing 3 consecutive months of service and at least 260 hours worked.
