About The RoleThe Regulatory Affairs Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet USDA and other regulatory requirements, while also supporting product innovation and business growth. This position partners closely with teams across the organization to interpret regulations, assess risk, and ensure that labeling, manufacturing, and product decisions are compliant, accurate, and market‑ready.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys translating complex regulations into practical business guidance, partnering cross‑functionally, and helping bring high‑quality food products to market with confidence.What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll serve as a trusted regulatory partner across the organization. Key responsibilities include:Ensure regulatory compliance with USDA and other applicable regulations by monitoring changes, interpreting requirements, and recommending clear implementation strategiesStay ahead of regulatory changes and proactively communicate impacts and requirements to internal stakeholders in a timely, easy‑to‑understand wayPartner cross‑functionally with Product Development, Quality, Operations, Sales, and other teams to build and maintain effective compliance systems and controlsSupport new product development, including reviewing formulations, ingredients, packaging, and responding to internal and customer regulatory inquiriesReview and approve product labeling, including Nutrition Facts, ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and net weightsManage Child Nutrition Labeling (CNL) submissions and approvals to ensure compliance with program requirementsMaintain accurate labeling and product data within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systemsSupport export regulatory requirements for products sold outside the U.S., as neededTrain and support internal teams on regulatory processes, expectations, and best practicesWhat You BringKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of USDA regulations and food labeling requirementsAbility to interpret regulatory language and apply it to real‑world business decisionsHigh attention to detail with strong organization and project management skillsComfort working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with multiple prioritiesStrong communicator who can engage effectively with internal teams and external agenciesAbility to influence and drive compliance outcomes through partnershipProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree preferred (Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field is a plus)An equivalent combination of education and relevant regulatory experience will be consideredMinimum 5 years of regulatory affairs experience in the food processing industryPoultry or meat industry experience is preferredHands‑on experience with food labeling, ingredient compliance, and regulatory interpretationWork EnvironmentOffice‑based role with typical computer and desk workSitting and standing for extended periodsReasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the roleWhy This Role MattersThis position helps protect the company, our customers, and our consumers by ensuring regulatory compliance while enabling innovation and growth.
