Your greatest work is ahead!\nAs a Lead Distribution Engineer, you can expect to:\nDeveloping the work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready and Street Light projects, using customer GIS and WMS systems such as SAP and Bentley Expert Designer.\nReview work provided by Client and assess requirements of scopes\nWill be comfortable in both a field and office setting and trained in customer engineering and construction standards.\nSupporting structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, calculations of electric demand and fault currents.\nDeveloping estimated costs for projects and development of BOM\nCoordination of conflicting utilities, and other field engineering design requirements, the assessment and development of design big packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements and ROW applications, and the design of mainline vault medium voltage switchgear, network system design and distribution system protection and coordination.\nPerform reviews of work by other engineers for submittal to Clients.\nConduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.\nComply with Leidos and Client Safety requirements as well as design and quality expectations\nCustomer/job related travel is anticipated and will be reimbursed at IRS approved rates. Overnight travel may be required.\nWhat Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):\n4+ years of prior relevant experience is required\nBachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree\nExperience with OH framing and design, UG distribution design, Voltage Conversion projects, Road Widening Projects, Major Underground Projects, Conductor replacements, and OH to UG conversions\nExperience with NESC Standards\nProficient with O-Calc and line design as well as SAG10 analysis\nExperience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation for Electrical Distribution design\nExcellent verbal and written communication\nOvernight travel may be required (15-25% travel)\nAbility to utilize personal vehicle\nPreferred Qualifications:\nEIT/FE credentials or PE license\nExperience with design tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, and Spida-Calc.\nExperience with Hawaiian Electric design standards\nAt Leidos, we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
