Explore your future and launch your career today.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Emergency Response Specialist or Principal Emergency Response Specialist in support of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:Support emergency response activities as directed by 29 CFR 1910.38, AFI 10-2501, SSCMAN 91-710, DoD 6055.17, MIL-STD-882E and contract requirements.Plan for emergencies in transportation, testing, storage, processing, and maintenance and deployment operations.Develop applicable program plans, process documents and procedures necessary to prepare the GBSD Program for current and future GBSD contract phases.Assess the designs of GBSD, facilities, test sites, and operational environment of GBSD, working with test and developing organizations to analyze and characterize hazards/vulnerabilities in the system, conducting site reviews, assessing hazards/readiness at various sites, performing safety assessments, and supporting the program to ensure it meets all program objectives in Roy, UT.Extensive experience in supporting the following ER and/or Safety disciplines is highly desirable:Previous experience in ER activities for DoD and military applications.Experience using 29 CFR 1910.38, DODM 6055.09/DESR 6055.09, AFMAN 91-201, AIAA-S-113 AFI 91-202, AFI 91-208, DODM 4145.26, Department of Transportation (DOT), and/or MIL-STD-882E - including federal, state and local emergency management requirements.Ability to review technical schematics, drawings, plans and specifications on the system, and test and integration facilities and apply occupational safety requirements.Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables.Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Additionally, possess excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.Collaborate with systems engineers, test engineers and facility users to ensure the program meets all applicable ER requirements.Develop ER procedures for high risk contract activities.Plan and conduct ER exercises involving a broad range of program participants and actors.Coordinate with state and local ER coordinators and organizations.Translate applicable regulations into program direction through writing plans, processes and procedures.Provide support at various GBSD locations to evaluate ER readiness through site surveys, checklists, etc.Communicate safety requirements effectively to the designers and the customer.Utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to sort through dynamic designs.Train emergency personnel, coordinate communication between different agencies and plan emergency response strategies. These professionals consult with officials of local military and area governments, hospitals, and other institutions in order to determine their needs and capabilities in the event of a natural disaster or other emergency. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.Job Qualifications:Emergency Response Specialist: Bachelor's degree in emergency management or a related field (such as occupational safety & health, public administration or public safety) or Bachelors of Science Degree OR higher in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or closely related technical discipline with 2 years' experience; 0 years' experience with a Masters' degreePrincipal Emergency Response Specialist: Bachelor's degree in emergency management or a related field (such as occupational safety & health, public administration or public safety) or Bachelors of Science Degree OR higher in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or closely related technical discipline with 5 years' experience; 3 years' experience with a Masters' degree; or 0 years' experience with a PhD1- 5 years' experience in ER with 29 CFR 1910.38, AFI 10-2501, AFSPCMAN 91-710, and/or MIL-STD-882E (or equivalent standards)Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) ClearanceMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearanceThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Emergency Management certification, Associate Safety Professional (ASP) /Certified Safety Professional (CSP) CertificateActive Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years.Weapon System Experience (Minuteman III or similar military, explosive ordnance disposal, or industry experience)Salary Range: $6,600.00 - $105,100.00Salary Range 2: $82,000.00 - $129,500.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
