Known for tackling some of the most complex engineering challenges in the world, this firm is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their Heavy Civil division in Washington, D.C.This search is for an organization that prides itself on a culture of care, industry-leading safety standards, and a massive self-perform capability. You will be joining a team that has recently secured landmark regional projects, including a $1B+ rail bridge upgrade connecting D.C. and Northern Virginia, alongside major highway and tunnel infrastructure developments.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full estimating process for large-scale heavy civil projects, specifically focusing on bridges, highways, and underground structures.Develop and execute win-strategies for hard-bid, Design-Build, and CM/GC delivery methods.Prepare detailed self-perform estimates for earthwork, concrete, and structural steel components.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.Conduct thorough risk-assessment reviews and identify opportunities for value engineering to provide the best value to the client.Lead and develop junior estimating staff, fostering a collaborative environment built on technical excellence.Candidate Requirements8–12+ years of estimating experience within the Heavy Civil sector.A proven track record in estimating $100M+ projects involving bridges (fixed or movable), highway interchanges, or tunneling/mass transit.Proficiency in industry-standard software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.A detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-stakes, deadline-driven environment and values a culture of safety and ethical transparency.Benefits & CultureCompetitive base of $160k – $175k, commensurate with experience.Performance-based bonus structure and local travel allowances.Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage starting day one.Robust 401(k) plan with generous company matching.Access to world-class leadership development programs and internal rotation opportunities.
