In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance core business applications on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform while using Java to support modern API integrations, web services, and cross-platform solutions.\nOur enterprise software environment includes a mature legacy business system with a broad mix of RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG III, requiring both strong maintenance skills and a practical modernization mindset.\nKey Responsibilities\n· Core Development: Design, code, test, and deploy business applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform using RPG IV, RPGLE, free-form RPG, RPG III, and Control Language (CL/CLLE).\n· Java Integration: Develop and maintain Java applications, utility modules, and connectors that bridge legacy AS/400 systems with modern enterprise frameworks.\n· Database Management: Use IBM RUNQRY effectively; experience with embedded SQL (SQLRPGLE) is a plus.\n· System Modernization: Design and implement RESTful and SOAP web services, and use the Integrated File System (IFS) to support seamless data exchange with external applications.\n· Production Support: Analyze and troubleshoot software issues, and optimize legacy code to improve performance and operational stability.\n· Collaboration: Work closely with business users to translate requirements into detailed technical specifications.\n· Documentation and Standards: Maintain clear technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and follow security and compliance standards.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\n· Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
