Materials Manager

We are currently partnering with a heavy hitter in the energy technology sector - a global leader that has been redefining how the world stays powered for over 60 years.They are looking for a Materials Manager who lives and breathes lean methodology. This isn't just about moving boxes; it's about architecting a seamless, high-velocity material ecosystem from the loading dock to the production line.The MissionYou'll be the primary architect of the "Plan for Every Part" (PFEP) strategy. Your goal is simple but high-stakes: ensure production never waits on a part, and inventory never gathers dust.Master the Flow: Oversee the end-to-end material lifecycle, including receiving, inspection, warehousing, and point-of-use delivery.Architect Lean Systems: Design and manage pull-based systems using supermarkets, 2-bin Kanbans, and tugger routes within a pristine 5S environment.Balance the Load: Manage WIP markets and replenishment strategies linked to Heijunka (level scheduling) and runner/repeater/stranger analysis.Drive the Team: Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated material handling crew (including supervisors and operators). You're responsible for hiring, coaching, and keeping the team firing on all cylinders.Optimize the Warehouse: Direct multi-shift operations across staging, cycle counting, and shipping of both finished goods and indirect materials.Be the SAP Super User: Act as the functional expert and liaison between the floor and the corporate materials strategy.Your Track RecordThe Foundation: You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business (or have the equivalent "battle-tested" experience).The Experience: At least 5 years of progressive operations management experience. We're looking for someone who has successfully led transformational lean initiatives.The Toolkit: You have a deep understanding of lean manufacturing and aren't afraid of a "high mix" production environment.The Brainpower: You're a data-driven decision-maker with solid quantitative skills and a firm grasp of financial goals.The Tech: You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office; if you've mastered SAP or a similar ERP, you're already at the front of the line. The Nitty GrittyThe Pace: It's fast. You'll need to juggle shifting priorities without dropping the ball.The Physicals: You'll be on your feet, navigating the floor, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
