Our success is the result of hardworking, skilled employees who share our passion for craftsmanship and innovation.\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\n\nThe Production Assembler is responsible for performing all tasks involved in the production of aluminum trailers. This includes measuring, cutting, and drilling of aluminum, plywood, and skins. All Production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of Production. Position offers job training. Training may include shop print reading, light assembly, and aluminum welding. Job requirements are close to residential and commercial carpentry and construction trade type of work and require some mechanical aptitude, good hand-eye coordination, while using diverse types of shop equipment and cordless power hand tools.\nFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssembles different facets of a trailer, including but not limited to interior trim, fenders, rough or finished wiring, and framing, following the work order. Balances productivity with quality and safety.\nReads and follows blueprints and work orders, ensuring a quality product that meets customer demands; performs work as assigned by the line supervisor.\nObtains raw materials from Material Handlers. Cut material in accordance with specifications on the cut list.\nNotifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues, including but not limited to defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from work order.\nEnsures that the finished product meets quality expectations. Strives for the highest level of quality and understands the need for continuous improvement; supports the concept of “good enough is never good enough.”\nMaintains a clean and safe work area; works to reduce scrap, returns unused materials to the proper area, and disposes of waste properly.\nFollows all safety procedures, wears protective equipment (PPE), and reports any accidents or near misses to the supervisor immediately.\nPerforms other related duties and assignments as required.\nDESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:\nMinimum: hands-on experience working with a variety of power tools\nPrevious experience working in manufacturing or construction is helpful; however, on-the-job training may be provided.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nMust be able to work quickly without sacrificing quality or safety.\nMust have a keen understanding of manufacturing processes.\nMust be able to measure and cut accurately.\nMust possess the ability to creatively think and solve problems.\nAbility to read blueprints and work orders accurately.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong time management and organizational abilities.\nPHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS\nStanding – up to 100%\nWalking – up to 50%\nPushing and pulling – up to fifty pounds occasionally\nLifting – approximately 55% during the shift\n5-25 pounds constantly\nFifty pounds frequently\n100 pounds occasionally as a team lift\nBending – up to 30%\nClimbing ladders – approximately 10%\nCrouching – up to 40%\nKneeling – Limited\nSight with the ability to distinguish cut lines.\nAbove average coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot, and balance.\nNormal dexterity of hands and fingers with average repetition\nAverage endurance\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:\nReliability\nTeam Player\nPhysical Stamina\n\nAlcom USA is proud of its diverse workforce and welcomes employees who speak one or more languages.
