Dietary Aide - Full-TimePay Rate: $18.00/hour and up (based on experience)Benefits: Full benefits package availableGeneral PurposeThe Dietary Aide supports daily food service operations based on the needs of each shift. This position reports directly to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and plays an essential role in meal preparation, sanitation, and kitchen organization.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesLearn and follow food service routines within a short period of timeSet up and assemble meal traysBreakdown returned trays and wash dishesAssist with serving meals as neededOperate the dishwasher safely and effectivelyCheck and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of each shiftMonitor dishwasher water temperatures throughout washing cyclesPrepare nourishments and snacksClean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and refrigeratorsSweep, mop, and maintain kitchen and dining area floorsRemove trash and garbage from kitchen areasStore groceries in a safe, clean, and orderly mannerMaintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at the end of each shiftAssist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor when requestedParticipate in orientation and ongoing trainingWork cooperatively and professionally with staff in all departmentsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredLanguage SkillsAbility to read and follow technical procedures and recipesAbility to communicate effectively with managers and team membersMathematical SkillsAbility to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situationsReasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problemsAbility to understand and follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructionsCertificatesMust obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's CertificatePhysical DemandsFrequent standing and walkingOccasional sittingFrequent reaching, pushing, and pullingFrequent talking, hearing, tasting, and smellingFrequently lift up to 50 poundsOccasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawlingVision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentThe work environment is typically low to moderate noise.
