You will ensure the safe, compliant, and uninterrupted flow of fuel to mission-critical turbines or reciprocating engines. This role sits at the intersection of utility management and industrial mechanics, requiring a "zero-failure" mindset to maintain 100% uptime. Key Responsibilities Gas Utility & Fuel Train Operations System Oversight: Manage the operation and inspection of high-pressure gas headers, custody transfer stations, and filtration systems. Compliance & Safety: Execute leak surveys and pressure tests in strict accordance with NFPA 54, NFPA 56, and DOT/PHMSA regulations. Pressure Regulation: Maintain and calibrate regulators, slam-shut valves, and flow meters to ensure the gas train meets specific engine intake requirements (PSI/CFH). Operations & Maintenance of Identifying and Addressing Safety Hazards Standardizing procedures and practicing emergency response plans. Support commissioning, and integrated systems testing. Contribute to energy efficiency initiatives and resilience planning. Electrical equipment including switchgear, breakers, UPS, ATS, transformers and generators. Mechanical infrastructure including chillers, dry coolers, FHU, CDU, CRAH units, and HVAC systems. Inspect and service mechanical components such as pumps, motors, heat exchangers, valves, and associated controls. Plumbing systems including domestic water supply, chiller plant, and associated pipes, valves and in-rack liquid cooling components. Preventative & Predictive Maintenance Execute and optimize PM programs using CMMS tools. Analyze performance trends for early detection of degradation or failure. Interface with OEMs and vendors for calibration, diagnostics, and part replacements. Troubleshooting & Incident Response Lead diagnostics during infrastructure faults; complete root cause analysis reports Escalate issues as needed and support incident resolution within SLA parameters Document all technical findings, repair actions, and risk mitigation steps Compliance & Vendor Coordination Ensure operations adhere to local code, internal policy, and manufacturer specifications Escort vendors, review scope of work, and verify completion Participate in audits, fire/life safety inspections, and sustainability reporting Continuous Improvement & Safety Recommended Qualifications Experience :4+ years in gas utility, power plant operations, or heavy industrial mechanical maintenance. Technical Certifications :Gas Fitter license (Journeyman level) or relevant Mechanical Trade certification. Regulatory Knowledge :Mastery of NFPA 54/56, OSHA 1910.147, and local US fuel gas codes. Mechanical Proficiency :Expert-level ability to read P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and mechanical blueprints. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools (ultrasonic leak detectors, manometers, and thermal cameras). Training & Development Opportunities Factory training for major OEM systems: Square D, Schneider, Liebert/Vertiv, Trane, Carrier. Emergency response and cross-functional drills for system failure scenarios and uptime recovery. Safety systems: confined space entry, arc flash protection, lockout/tagout protocols. Leadership development and change management programs.
