This role will help support and evolve service-layer applications, troubleshoot sustainment issues, and contribute to reactive Java development using Java 17, WebFlux, Reactor, MongoDB, and AWS/cloud technologies.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, and Spring Reactor.\nBuild and support reactive REST APIs using Project Reactor, Mono, Flux, and WebFlux.\nAnalyze sustainment issues quickly and provide practical technical solutions.\nSupport and enhance service-layer applications in a cloud-hosted environment.\nWork with MongoDB and understand considerations around reactive data access and blocking database behavior.\nCollaborate with engineering teammates to support ongoing development, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.\nPromote best practices in code quality, CI/CD, testing, and production support.\nConduct code reviews and contribute to maintainable, reliable backend services.\nStay current on Java, Spring Reactor, WebFlux, and cloud-native development practices.\nRequired Skills\n5+ years of professional Java development experience.\nStrong Java 17 experience.\nStrong Spring Boot experience.\nHands-on experience with Spring WebFlux and Spring Reactor.\nExperience building or supporting reactive applications using Mono and Flux.\nStrong understanding of RESTful API development and integration.\nAbility to explain a real WebFlux application and the candidate’s personal role in building or supporting it.\nExperience troubleshooting backend service issues and quickly identifying practical fixes.\nFamiliarity with MongoDB or other database technologies.\nFamiliarity with AWS or cloud-hosted application environments.\nFamiliarity with modern DevOps and version control tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, or similar.\nRequired Education\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.\nMaster's degree preferred.\nPreferred Skills\nExperience using MongoDB with reactive Java applications.\nExperience with Java 17 to Java 21 migration.\nExperience with AWS services or cloud-hosted deployments.\nExperience with hospitality, travel, commerce, or adjacent customer-facing business domains.\nExperience with Kubernetes or containerized application environments.\nKnowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.\nFamiliarity with NestJS or willingness to support JavaScript/NestJS-adjacent service work.\nAWS Certification is a plus.\nWhy Should I Apply?\nThis opportunity offers the chance to work on modern Java service-layer applications using Java 17, Spring WebFlux, Spring Reactor, MongoDB, and cloud-hosted technologies.
