This position will uphold the Hydrite \"Standards of Excellence\" through continuous commitment to customer satisfaction, both internal and external.\n\nThis position requires students to take either the Spring or Fall 2027 semester off from classes to complete the co-op.\n\nAs Engineering Co-Op, primary responsibilities include:\n\nProvide technical analysis for projects as assigned.\nAssist in implementation of capital projects and maintenance activities, where appropriate.\nPerform engineering clerical-type duties as assigned.\nInvestigate, evaluate and implement process related cost saving improvements such as waste reduction, cycle-time reduction, lower cost raw material qualification, scale-up, and shelf-life improvements.\nInvestigate, evaluate and implement process related cycle time improvements such as batch process time reduction, continuous process throughput increase, pre/post-batch cleanout time reduction, and quality improvement intended to accomplish capacity generation.\nInvestigate, evaluate and implement site energy reduction and/or sustainability improvement opportunities.\nWorks with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary/directed.\nSupports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.\n\nREPORTING STRUCTURE\n\nThis position reports to the Plant Engineering team.\n\nEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA\n\nEnrollment in accredited university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required. Preferably – Mechanical or Chemical.\nStrong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.\nProficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Power Point (or equivalent software applications)\nDemonstrated leadership skills preferred.
