The role partners closely with People & Culture, Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and external providers to maintain efficient benefits processes, support data integrity, and enhance the employee experience through effective program administration and operational excellence. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way - responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.\n\n5-10 years of 401(k) plan management experience and global retirement offerings\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources or closely related field or equivalent professional experience relevant to this position\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines\nExtensive benefits administration experience\nKnowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements as they apply to benefit plans, programs or practices, and company policies and operations\nRecent and extensive experience managing external vendor relationships\nExcellent presentation and project management skills\nExperience working with HRIS platforms such as HiBob, ADP, or similar systems\nStrong understanding of benefits processes, employee data management, and\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-country environment\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to identify operational inefficiencies and support scalable process improvements\nExperience supporting global or multi-jurisdictional programs is considered an asset\n\nThe Retirement Program Advisor is responsible for:\n\nManages employee retirement programs including US 401(k) defined contribution plans, Canadian Group RRSP arrangements, and other international retirement programs\nEffectively manages ongoing relationships with retirement plan vendors and recordkeepers (e.g., 401(k) administrators, Canadian group retirement providers) to ensure quality service delivery and cost containment.\nCommunicates extensively with internal and external legal counsel on retirement plan compliance, including plan document drafting, amendments, contracts, statements of work, and review of participant communications.\nEvaluates and benchmarks the company's 401(k), RRSP, and other international retirement offerings against industry peers by analyzing plan design, employer match/contribution structures, and survey data; develops specific recommendations to management on plan competitiveness and retirement readiness.\nEnsures company compliance with US retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRS contribution limits, ADP/ACP testing), Canadian requirements (CRA contribution limits,\npension standards legislation where applicable), and other applicable international retirement/pension regulations.\n\nOversees preparation of required regulatory filings, including IRS Form 5500, DOL filings, PBGC filings (for defined benefit plans), and applicable Canadian and other international regulatory reporting.\nResponsible for preparing and distributing required retirement plan communications, including 401(k) plan changes, RRSP/group plan updates, and safe harbor or annual notices; leads retirement communication strategy to promote employee retirement readiness across all jurisdictions.\nHandles retirement plan inquiries and complaints (401(k), RRSP)) to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution.\nLead retirement plan Merger and Acquisition activity\nOversees maintenance of records for all retirement plans, including contribution history, vesting schedules, and plan documents across US, Canadian, and other international entities\n\nAt IREN, we offer a comprehensive, market-competitive total rewards package designed to support employees’ well-being, career advancement, and financial wealth.
