The DLER is assigned to one or more vessels in the LPD 17, LSD 41/49, or LHD 8/LHA 6 ship classes, and assists the ship's crew in documenting and scheduling Diesel Engine maintenance actions, collecting engine performance data, and assisting with engine balancing. An ideal candidate will have significant prior experience with U.S. Navy shipboard diesel propulsion and power generating systems, including prior or current certification as a Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) and/or an OEM Technical Service Representative.\\n \\n Typical Responsibilities:\\n\\nCoordinate diesel engine maintenance with the ship's maintenance team, regional maintenance centers.\\nRepresent the ISEA at integrated project team development meetings, conferences, work package reviews, and industrial support visits.\\nMaintain life cycle maintenance plans for assigned vessels.\\nMonitor vessels life cycle maintenance, performance data, and reciprocating engine analysis testing compliance.\\nCoordinate to ensure that condition-based maintenance requirements are planned for upcoming availabilities.\\nReview and submit technical reports, work specifications, and maintenance procedures.\\nEvaluate departure from specification requests and submit to the appropriate technical authority for resolution.\\nDevelop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired.\\nDevelop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure that parts and materials are available when needed.\\nProvide the crew training in collecting engine performance data.\\nAssist the crew with engine balancing and grooming events.\\n\\n Location: Onsite in San Diego, CA.\\n \\n Anticipated Travel: Approximately 10-20% travel anticipated.\\n \\n Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment.
