Employment TypePart timeShiftDay ShiftDescriptionPharmacy Tech - Sunnyview Hospital If you are looking to join Sunnyview as a per time Pharmacy Technician, this could be your opportunity.Position HighlightsQuality of Life: Where career opportunities and quality of life convergeAdvancement: Strong orientation program, generous tuition allowance and career development Work/Life: Positions and shifts to accommodate all schedulesResponsibilitiesMedication Distribution -Inpatient PharmacyUnderstands process and timetable for processing first dose and manual picks via Pyxis Logistics application and through MedCarouselUnderstands process for filling cart fill patient drawers via Pyxis Logistics and MedCarouselAccurately sends Pharmacy items to appropriate nursing units utilizing Pneumatic Tube systemMedication Preparation –Inpatient PharmacyCart filling and baggie filling is accurate, selects proper medication, strength, dosage form and quantitySelects proper medication, strength, dosage form, and quantity for batching or packaging & labelingPrepares controlled substance orders for dispensing to Pyxis MedStations and returns controlled substances as neededInventory –Inpatient PharmacyMaintain adequate levels of drugs and supplies for assigned areaChecks in and puts away drug/IV order. Informs pharmacist/inventory technician of shortages, zeros and discrepanciesReturns to stock, discontinued medications, IVs and minibags, IVs and minibags from discharged patients by end of shiftOrder, Reporting Processing and Record KeepingInpatient PharmacyPerform technical functions in Pharmacy IS accurately utilizing established proceduresRecords and labels related to batching and packaging/labeling are neat, accurate and complete according to procedureProcesses daily reports accurately and in a timely mannerCompletes correct controlled substance paperwork, so as to maintain correct controlled substance inventoryWhat You Will NeedHigh School Diploma or equivalentCertification from PTCB or NHA preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsAble to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions, decimals, multiplication and divisionTwo Years Pharmacy And Computer Experience PreferredRelevant health care related experience preferredPay Range: $19.00 - $23.42Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
