Join us.\n\nJob Description\n\nAECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Transportation Drainage Engineer for employment in Murray, UT. This position will be responsible for assisting Project Engineers with planning, designing, and documenting civil engineering projects, such us highways, bridges, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure.\n\nUnder the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, Project Manager, or senior-level team member, the successful candidate will:\n\nPerform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.\nDevelop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities through assigned tasks.\nExercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.\nPrepare engineering related calculations, design drawings, and visual aids.\nAssist with field investigations.\nCollect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories.\nInterpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance, and draft reports based on observed conclusions and professional judgment.\nBuilds analytic and design skills.\nConducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.\nCreates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.\nCollects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.\nUses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.\nPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field\nValid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.\nAs a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.\nDue to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nHydrologic and hydraulic modeling software experience (i.e. Bentley ORD, HEC-RAS, SHR-2D)\nHolds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within a year.\nCapable of working within a design team\nExcellent communication skills\n\nAdditional Information\n\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
