{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2dfcf8113900efced4e568d5","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2dfcf8113900efced4e568d5","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2dfcf8113900efced4e568d5","title":"Regional Controller","description":"Overall Role & Responsibilities\r\nServe as the Finance and Accounting leader for the Southern California, San Diego, and Phoenix business units within the Southwest region.\r\nDevelop, analyze, and present financial results and projections for assigned business units.\r\nBe a strategic business partner to Regional Leaders, Business Unit Leaders, and their core teams.\r\nReport timely and accurate information to Finance leadership, to include the CFO.\r\nEvaluate projects for risks and opportunities to inform financial positions, supporting resolution as appropriate.\r\nLead the annual 2-Year Business Planning and long-range financial planning processes.\r\nProactively manage financial risk; ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\r\nLead project accounting function for assigned business units.\r\nCollaborate and coordinate with fellow Regional Controller(s), SPW (Self-Perform Work) Controller(s), and Assistant Controller(s) as well as entity Controllers from the DPR Family of Companies.\r\nAdvance/lead initiatives supporting company-wide improvements.\r\nSpecific Areas of Focus\r\nFinance\r\nPrepare and present monthly financial packages, forecasts, and business plans.\r\nMonitor trends, investigating and analyzing findings.\r\nLead or participate in periodic detailed reviews of focus areas such as overhead costs, labor rates, insurance programs, and billing positions.\r\nReview and analyze project-level monthly status reports, interacting with project teams and sharing observations with leaders to include risks/reserves not reported or needed based on experience.\r\nProvide decision support, identifying and bringing forward opportunities to support achieving business targets with strong financial results.\r\nAccounting\r\nResponsible for project accountants' performance and career development.\r\nIdentify topics and issues that need to be communicated with adjacent groups; drive billing and job-cost accounting best practices.\r\nFollow up with project teams and accountants on timeliness of billings and collections.\r\nOversee overall cash flow/position for each project and implement corrective action as needed.\r\nCollaborate with Shared Services to monitor cash receipts and disbursements for assigned business units.\r\nEnsure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and technical accounting policies.\r\nSupport various audits.\r\nManage credit and subcontractor risks in partnership with national Finance & Accounting, Risk Management, and Prequalification work groups.\r\nGeneral\r\nSelf-starter, takes ownership and follows through.\r\nProvides regular and thorough communication, while balancing listening.\r\nComfortable synthesizing and presenting data and insights to various audiences with presence.\r\nFocused on building strong working relationships and creating a positive work environment.\r\nDemonstrates strong organizational skills, planning ahead and managing time efficiently.\r\nExhibits strong business intuition, providing critical thinking with problem-solving skills using research and analytics; proactive about identifying trends, issues, and troubleshooting.\r\nAstutely flexes between hands-on strong attention to detail and a big-picture strategic view.\r\nEmbraces and embodies the culture of Integrity, Enjoyment, Uniqueness, and Ever Forward.\r\nFlexibility to travel and be in office or on jobsite periodically as planned.\r\nEducation and Experience Requirements\r\nMinimum of 10 years practicing accounting and financial planning and analysis.\r\nBS in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.\r\nExperience with developing and leading high-performing teams.\r\nConstruction or manufacturing industry experience, including a solid understanding of relevant methods of accounting.\r\nProficiency with accounting and finance software applications; Oracle EPM or CMiC a plus.\r\nAnticipated Starting Pay Range\r\n$165,000.00 – $230,000.00\r\nBenefits\r\nNothing is more important than your health and wellness.
