More specifically, we are looking for someone with strong wireless experience and proficiency in modern C++ to help improve and enhance our vehicles’ WiFi software stack.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software applications for vehicle WiFi connection management and configuration\nWiFi Station mode for high-speed vehicle internet access, enabling OTA updates, telematics, and more\nWiFi Access Point mode for mobile hotspot and wireless CarPlay / Android Auto, connecting user devices to the internet and vehicle infotainment system\nEnable advanced WiFi (802.11) features for the vehicles\nImprove algorithms for WiFi network selection, roaming, and simultaneous STA/AP configuration management in often ambiguous radio environments\nDesign modular software to scale to multiple WiFi chipsets and generations\nIntegrate drivers, firmware, and SDKs of WiFi chipset and module vendors and work closely with vendors for support\nDebug WiFi connectivity issues via over-the-air packet captures and vehicle logs and telemetry\nCollaborate closely with the Infotainment, UX, Platform, Security, Factory, and Hardware teams in architecting a highly scalable platform\nEnsure code quality through comprehensive unit testing (GTest, GMock) and adherence to coding standards\nBasic qualifications\nBS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering\nProficient with WiFi / 802.11 protocols\nStrong modern C++ programming\nProficient in networking (such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)\nStrong first principles thinking along with excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills\nNICE TO HAVE\nExperience with WiFi drivers/firmware, wpa_supplicant, or hostapd is a plus\nExperience with 802.11 packet capture analysis (e.g. Wireshark) is a plus\nExperience with Linux or Android routing and firewalls is a plus\nExperience with Kotlin or Java is a plus\nExperience with other wireless technologies such as Cellular or Bluetooth is a plus\nExperience with Qualcomm platforms is a plus\nPreferred additional skills, personal traits and experience\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\nAbility to work in fast-paced, client-facing environments\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\nAdaptability to changing requirements and priorities\nTeam player\nProactiveness in collaborating and execution\nFlexibility to switch technical context\nWillingness to learn new methods/tools/processes\nAbility to prioritize, multitask, and take ownership\nStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nWe offer\nThe annual salary range for this role is $140,000 – $180,000 per year.\nThe Annual Salary depends upon various job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
