The team uses high-performance racing environments as a testbed for cutting-edge autonomous systems and real-time decision-making tools. Its flagship product, Maveric AI, is an autonomy stack designed for high dynamic, high risk, edge-based operations. Team members collaborate at the intersection of robotics, software engineering, and AI to build solutions that apply both on the track and in broader mission-critical domains.Role Description The Robotics Software Engineer - Simulation will develop, maintain, and optimize simulation environments used to design, test, and validate autonomous racing and robotics software. This contract, remote role involves implementing and refining physics-based models, integrating robotics and AI algorithms into simulation frameworks, and building tools to analyze performance, safety, and reliability. The engineer will collaborate with robotics, controls, and AI teams to translate real-world requirements into robust virtual test scenarios, automate simulation workflows, and troubleshoot software issues. Day-to-day tasks include coding and testing software components, reviewing and improving simulation pipelines, documenting technical work, and contributing to continuous integration and deployment practices focused on simulation-based validation.###What you'll be doing:- Build, develop, and maintain scalable 3D simulation software for Digital Twin and Synthetic Data Generation applications to support autonomous drone development.- Develop and maintain core simulation capabilities such as a terrain rendering pipeline, drone physics models, and many more- Iterate on sensor fidelity and dynamics realism based on feedback from autonomy teams, bridging the gap between synthetic data and real-world performance- Develop user interfaces and frontend components as needed.- Work closely with autonomy team to define and prioritize features and requirements.- Participate in code reviews, roadmap discussions, and team meetings.- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and guidelines to ensure our solutions remain innovative.### What we need to see:- Bachelor or higher degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or equivalent experience.- Experience in large-scale software development in Computer Graphics, Game Engines, or 3D Simulation software (e.g., Unreal, Unity, IsaacSim).- Excellent programming skills in languages such as C/C++ and Python- Experience in a Linux development environment- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.###Ways to stand out from the crowd:- Masters or higher degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or equivalent experience.- Proficiency in modeling and simulation of physics phenomena (e.g., rigid-body dynamics, fluid dynamics, etc.).- Demonstrated experience in robotics/autonomous systems (e.g., sensor simulation, perception pipelines, SITL/HITL testing)- Experience with NVIDIA GPU technology and Omniverse programming.- Experience with content generation using LLM and Generative AI models.- Hands-on experience with 3D virtual content creation and animation tools (e.g., Maya, Blender, Houdini).","company":"Code19 Racing","rawCompany":"code19 racing","city":"Denver","state":"CO","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-22T10:37:05.228Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"17-2199.08","title":"Robotics Engineers","slug":"robotics-engineers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"}],"industries":[{"code":"541715","title":"Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Nanotechnology and Biotechnology)","slug":"research-and-development-in-the-physical-engineering-and-life-sciences-except-nanotechnology-and-biotechnology"},{"code":"541330","title":"Engineering Services","slug":"engineering-services"},{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Robotics Software Engineer - Simulation","description":"Company Description Code19 Racing is the world’s first professional autonomous race team, founded by military veterans who are committed to advancing dual-use AI technologies.
