{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2df6e7635f2d6fd329d9a4c3","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2df6e7635f2d6fd329d9a4c3","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2df6e7635f2d6fd329d9a4c3","title":"Senior Java Developer","description":"This role will be responsible for implementing and enhancing business applications as part of a highly collaborative delivery team, with a primary focus on the support of NJM’s core insurance systems implemented with Guidewire technology.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nCode, configure, debug, and test functionalities for core systems.\nSupport the design and development of new frameworks and integration patterns.\nDevelop, test, and maintain core systems while leveraging AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., code generation, automated refactoring, and intelligent debugging and test case generation).\nCollaborate with team members on estimation, planning, execution, and delivery of features that provide business value.\nEmploy a quality first mindset, contributing to and focusing on testing strategies, automation, and improvement.\nFocus on understanding business needs and end-to-end system flows.\nSupport team members by sharing technical and product knowledge.\nPlan and coordinate production deployments.\nProvide production support as needed.\nDemonstrate curiosity and passion for innovation when collaborating within the team.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI-enabled automation in the software development lifecycle.\nTake pride and ownership in the systems and functionalities you implement.\nMentor other developers.\nConduct code reviews and provide oversight of all team deliverables.\nEnsure adherence to design and development best practices within the team.\nRequired Qualifications:\n7+ years of software development experience with modern application technologies.\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required.\nExtensive experience with object-oriented design and development, software architecture concepts, and web application constructs.\nExtensive Experience with relational database technologies and experience writing SQL.\nExperience working with integrations such as web services or messaging.\nExperience with RESTful services and microservices design.\nPossesses good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working as part of an agile development team\nExperience with AI development tools and governance for their responsible and effective use.\nExperience with Microsoft SQL server.\nP&C insurance experience and working with Guidewire technologies are a plus.\nCloud computing and development experience is a plus.\nCompensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.\nPay Range: $115,523-$134,118\nEligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
