In this role, you’ll take ownership of database reliability, performance, and security—responding to incidents, managing maintenance, and ensuring systems meet established SLAs in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.\n\nYou’ll work closely with internal technology teams, proactively address issues, support production deployments, and help define best practices that keep our databases running smoothly.\n\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to\n\nMaintain and optimize existing SQL Server databases\n\nManage backup and restore processes\n\nInstall, configure, and upgrade SQL Server environments\n\nMonitor databases, backups, and scheduled jobs for failures\n\nRespond to database alerts, incidents, and escalations\n\nTune performance using execution plans, SQL Profiler, and third-party tools\n\nDesign and maintain database schemas, queries, triggers, constraints, and indexes\n\nEnsure data integrity and security through roles and permissions\n\nSupport production deployments and monthly patching\n\nPerform disaster recovery planning and testing\n\nCreate and maintain ERD diagrams\n\nDocument DBA processes and procedures\n\nProvide timely responses to tickets, emails, calls, IMs, and other communications\n\nParticipate in on-call rotation (nights and weekends)\n\nPerform scheduled weekend maintenance (rotational)\n\nMentor and train new and existing staff\n\nMaintain current certifications and continue professional development\n\nRequired Education\n\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.\n\nTechnical Skills\n\nSQL Server 2019+\n\nStrong T-SQL skills (stored procedures, triggers, constraints, indexes)\n\nSSIS / ETL development experience\n\nDatabase tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning\n\nHigh Availability technologies (Clustering, Mirroring, Replication, Temporal Tables)\n\nQuery Store and Change Data Capture (CDC)\n\nFamiliarity with Redgate SQL Monitor (plus)\n\nPowerShell, .NET, and Windows Server knowledge (pluses)\n\nCertifications (Preferred)\n\nMicrosoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)\n\nMicrosoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)\n\nMicrosoft Certified Master (MCSM)\n\nMicrosoft MCP\n\nAbout PossibleNOW\n\nFounded in 2000 and headquartered in Duluth, GA, PossibleNOW is a successful, growing, family oriented, and private held company that is the industry leader for direct marketing compliance, consent, and preference management solutions via our SaaS technology and professional services offering.
