This role leads facility operations, infrastructure maintenance, engineering systems, security, energy management, capital projects, and workplace services while supporting business continuity and operational excellence initiatives. objectives.\nKey Responsibilities Facilities Operations & Engineering Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all Facilities, Engineering, Security, Maintenance, and Site Services activities.\nManage the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of building infrastructure and critical utility systems.\nOversee engineering and facilities programs, including HVAC, electrical distribution, chilled water, compressed air, process gases, plumbing, fire life safety systems, and building automation systems.\nDevelop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.\nImplement asset lifecycle management programs to ensure long-term sustainability of critical infrastructure.\nMonitor facility performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), reliability metrics, and operational dashboards.\nOperational Excellence Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, energy reduction, and operational performance.\nDevelop and manage annual operating budgets, maintenance plans, and resource allocation strategies.\nIdentify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and improved service delivery without compromising safety or compliance.\nEstablish service level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards for facilities operations and contracted services.\nCompliance, Safety & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, health, safety, quality, and statutory requirements.\nLead facility readiness for internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance assessments.\nManage fire and life safety programs, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning.\nEnsure completion of all required inspections, certifications, testing, and regulatory documentation.\nServe as a key stakeholder in risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to facility operations.\nProject & Capital Program Management Support site planning, capacity management, and space utilization initiatives in partnership with Global Facilities Planning.\nEnsure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards.\nVendor & Contract Management Manage relationships with facility service providers, engineering contractors, consultants, and suppliers.\nLead sourcing, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and contractor performance reviews.\nEnsure contracted services meet operational, safety, quality, and financial expectations.\nSecurity & Emergency Response Manage emergency response procedures, incident investigations, and escalation processes.\nAdminister on-call and emergency call-out programs for facility, utility, security, and alarm-related incidents.\nLeadership & Team Development Lead and develop facilities personnel, contractors, and service providers.\nFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer service.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Quality, EHS, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Real Estate, and Business Operations teams.\nProvide leadership reporting and recommendations regarding facility performance, capital investments, and operational risks.\nQualifications & Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related discipline preferred.\nProfessional certifications such as CFM, FMP, PMP, PE, LEED, CSP, or equivalent are desirable.\nExperience 7+ years of progressive facilities management, engineering, or operations leadership experience.\nExperience managing critical building infrastructure in a regulated, technical, laboratory, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or commercial environment.\nProven experience leading maintenance, engineering, and facility operations teams.\nDemonstrated success managing capital projects and operational budgets.\nTechnical Knowledge Strong knowledge of: HVAC systems\nElectrical distribution systems\nChilled water systems\nCompressed air systems\nBuilding Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)\nFire and Life Safety Systems\nEmergency Power Systems\nProcess Utility Systems\nFacility Reliability Programs\n\nUnderstanding of cGMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements preferred.\nWorking knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).\nLeadership Competencies Strong business acumen with demonstrated operational leadership skills.\nExcellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.\nProven ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound operational development skills.\nThe estimated base salary range for the Facilities Manager (Operations & Engineering) role based in the United States of America is: $109,500 - $164,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
