Our Space Vehicles team is growing and is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to support the development of innovative flight and embedded systems for space applications.\n\nOur team comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and early-career talent. We develop satellite buses, orbital maneuvering vehicles (OMVs), space tugs, and related systems. The team values collaboration, technical excellence, and mentorship.\n\nThis position will work out of Arvada, CO and operates on a 9/80 hybrid work schedule. The office sits near the Front Range foothills, about 10 minutes from Golden and Arvada and an easy commute from much of the Denver metro area.\n\nAs a Sr. Software Engineer, you will:\n\nDesign, implement, and verify real-time embedded flight software for spacecraft buses, OMVs, and other space vehicles using C/C++ and Python.\nAct as a technical lead on projects: drive architecture and design decisions, define software interfaces, and lead design reviews.\nMentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, helping grow team capability and best practices.\nDevelop and maintain software running on VxWorks and Linux targets; work across different toolchains and cross-compilation environments.\nBuild and maintain software simulators and automated test frameworks for system integration and regression testing.\nPerform and document unit, integration, and system-level testing; support continuous integration and test automation efforts.\nTroubleshoot and debug software in close integration with spacecraft hardware and system engineering teams.\nReview and provide constructive feedback on software requirements, specifications, and code.\nCollaborate with cross-disciplinary subject-matter experts (hardware, avionics, guidance/navigation/control, systems) in an Agile environment.\nMove between programs as priorities require.\n\nTo be considered for the Sr. Software Engineer role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:\n\nBS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field\n5+ years’ professional software development experience, including embedded systems.\n8+ years of relevant professional experience preferred\nMust have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance\nDemonstrated experience programming in C/C++ or similar embedded languages\nProficiency in Python for tools, test automation, or scripting.\nExperience with VxWorks (Wind River), Greenhills or equivalent real-time OS; strong familiarity with real-time concepts and deterministic scheduling.\nExperience developing for and debugging on Linux hosts and targets.\nStrong understanding of computer architecture, OS fundamentals, networking protocols, and inter-process communication.\nProven ability to lead technical efforts and mentor teammates; strong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nIt would be great if you also had:\n\nExperience with avionics/spacecraft flight software architectures and standards.\nFamiliarity with cross-compilation toolchains, BSPs, device drivers, and hardware bring-up.\nExperience with CI/CD, automated test frameworks, and version control workflows (Git).\nKnowledge of telemetry, command & control, and spacecraft bus subsystems.\nExperience writing software requirements and participating in system-level trades.\n\nHow We Care for You:\n\nFinancial Rewards: great compensation package, bonus opportunities , matching 401k, and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts\nWork/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance.\nHealth & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages.\nProfessional Skills Development: Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs\nCulture: Warm, respectful, family-like environment driven by our 12 core values.
