In this role, the candidate will work as a C++ software developer in the L1 Quality Assurance (QA) team to enhance and maintain a custom framework for validating storage solutions in a fast paced, non-stop, automated test environment.ResponsibilitiesHelp design, develop, and maintain an ever-expanding automation QA framework and suite of test cases and tools that use system-level and custom IOCTL calls to validate a complete data center storage solutionUnderstand product implementation and expected product behaviors by reading specifications and source codeDevelop automated tests for validating new solutions and feature setsImprove the efficiency and capabilities of the QA automated test frameworkWork with QA and Development teams to debug and triage both test case and product failuresMaintain servers and other hardware/software components used for continuous automated testingWork with QA and Development teams to track and provide estimates for tasks by utilizing and following the Agile methodologyRequirements/QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering2+ years of proven programming experience using C++ and Bash Shell scriptingKnowledge of Object-Oriented Design and programming best practicesStrong analysis and debug skillsExperience working in multi-threaded environmentsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience working with Linux operating systemsPreferred QualificationsAble to apply memory management techniques in low-memory environmentsFamiliarity with server storage technologies and concepts (RAID, SCSI, etc.)In addition to strong C++ coding experience, experience with Java, Python, and/or Perl is a plusTravel Time0% - 25%Physical AttributesClimbing, Crouching, Hearing, Kneeling, Lifting, Pushing, Seeing, Stooping, Talking, Works Around OthersPhysical RequirementsStanding 10%, Walking 10%, Sitting 80%, Inside 100%, M-F 8-5pmMicrochip Technology Inc is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
