At Matrix, we understand our customers’ objectives and have the expertise to deliver quality restoration & repair solutions.\nJob Summary\nThe General Construction Superintendent at Matrix Construction Services works directly with the site team and assists in supervising all facets of assigned capital general construction projects, including but not limited to project management and execution, client communication, and project closeouts. The Superintendent will also be responsible for on-site staff management and management and implementation of all company policies and safety procedures. This role will oversee project activities within the assigned geographic service locations of the Company. The expected schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with the possibility of evening and weekend work as required to meet company and client deadlines.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nProficient in reading, troubleshooting, and following Architectural, Structural, Civil Engineering, Landscaping, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Sprinkler plan sets.\nProficiency in building project schedules for all facets of construction i.e., multi-family, residential, commercial, and land development work.\nDirectly accountable for managing assigned projects to ensure completion of all deliverables.\nRegularly performs risk assessment and analysis of all aspects of assigned projects.\nReview and monitor internal and trade partner planning, pricing, scheduling, and coordination of the technical and management aspects of assigned projects.\nIdentify and communicate project delays and appropriate solutions.\nManage and meet permit and code requirements for each project following managing authority guidelines.\nParticipate in sourcing, qualifying, and coordinating contracts for subcontract labor.\nParticipate in sourcing, qualifying, and coordinating contracts for suppliers.\nMonitor construction schedules and react accordingly to maintain completion schedules.\nReview and follow budgets and subcontracts on assigned projects.\nResponsible for quality assurance inspections and holding the trade partners accountable for a high-quality standard.\nManage projects to verify subcontractor quality control, work performance, and schedule compliance.\nCollect all subcontract purchase orders, schedule of values, and change orders.\nResponsible for the proper execution of company systems, policies, and procedures. Including but not limited to; RFIs, Budgets, Estimates, Safety Program, Submittals, Schedules, Warranty Issues, Project Permitting, Forecasts, Buy Out, Subcontractor Agreements, and Due Diligence.\nProvides clear and professional communications to project staff, clients, and supervisors.\nEnsures that all field-level daily reports and accurate time-tracking logs are per company policy (verbal, written, and electronic).\nAssists Construction Administration Team with subcontractor documents including the pre-qualification.\nEnsures quality control meets company and client expectations.\nServes as a “point of contact” with clients on project-related issues.\nResolves disputes and conflicts related to projects and Clients.\nMaintains regular contact with all project Clients and strives to keep Client satisfaction at high levels.\nKeeps extensive and independent contact with vendor’s representatives and project field personnel.\nParticipate in bid walks, pre-construction meetings, and other meetings as required for the success of the projects.\nWorking knowledge to evaluate all general construction employees and subcontractors in all scope-related work and punch items.\nPerforms other duties as necessary or assigned.\nQualifications\nHigh School degree or equivalent.\nExceptional organization.\nMulti-family experience/Apartment construction.\nFamiliar with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Smartsheet software.\nValid Driver’s License.\nReliable Transportation.\nOSHA 30 preferred.\nMaintains all tools to safely perform the required scope of work.\nMaintains company provided vehicle in clean condition, coordinates all preventative maintenance and repairs, and reports any maintenance or wear concerns.\nAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external partners, including residents of apartment dwellings.\nGeneral trade level skill set relative to assigned scope.\nProficiency with a computer and/or tablet device.\nUnderstanding of conversational Spanish is highly preferred.\nPhysical & Other Requirements\nPhysical: The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to eighty (80) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb stairs, use hands and arms, talk, or hear, drive a vehicle, and use basic office electronics (computer, telephone).
