This position focuses on driving process consistency, resolving production issues, and ensuring equipment is built, tested, and validated in accordance with engineering specifications, ISO 9001 requirements, and customer expectations.\nThis role owns and manages the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process, coordinating changes across departments to ensure proper evaluation, documentation, implementation, and communication. In addition, the position supports quality initiatives including in-process inspections, nonconformance management, and root cause analysis.\nThe Process / Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in bridging design intent with production execution—ensuring processes are efficient, repeatable, and continuously improving while maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.\nHOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE\nProduction Support & Process Ownership (Primary Focus)\nServe as a daily presence on the production floor, supporting technicians and resolving manufacturing issues in real time.\nDevelop, document, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.\nEnsure builds align with engineering drawings, BOMs, routings, and specifications.\nIdentify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and variability; implement improvements to increase throughput and consistency.\nSupport ERP system accuracy related to BOMs, routings, and production workflows.\nEngineering Change Management (Core Responsibility)\nInitiate, submit, and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).\nCoordinate cross-functional review of proposed changes with Engineering, Production, and Quality.\nTrack change status, ensure proper approvals, and drive timely implementation.\nCommunicate changes clearly to production teams and update all affected documentation (drawings, BOMs, work instructions, etc.).\nEnsure changes are effectively validated and sustained in production.\nQuality & Continuous Improvement (Secondary Focus)\nSupport in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to specifications and customer requirements.\nIdentify, document, and help resolve nonconformances.\nLead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).\nAnalyze trends in defects, rework, and failures to drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nAssist in developing standardized inspection criteria, checklists, and validation procedures.\nTesting, Validation & Troubleshooting\nSupport functional testing and validation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems as needed.\nTroubleshoot production and test failures using structured, data-driven problem-solving methods.\nEnsure equipment meets safety, performance, and acceptance criteria prior to shipment.\nWHAT SETS YOU UP FOR SUCCESS\nAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).\nExperience in a manufacturing, process engineering, or production support role.\nStrong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot production issues using structured problem-solving methods.\nExperience working with engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.\nFamiliarity with quality processes including inspections, nonconformance tracking, and root cause analysis.\nExperience supporting or managing engineering changes (ECR/ECO process preferred).\nStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.\nComfortable working hands-on in a production environment around heavy equipment.\nADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience with ground support equipment (GSE), mobile equipment, truck upfitting, or industrial machinery.\nFamiliarity with ISO 9001 standards and QMS requirements.\nExperience with ERP systems (BOMs, routings, change management).\nExposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience supporting testing, commissioning, or customer acceptance activities.\nWHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER:\nGlobal Ground Support is a leading innovator in aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
