Project Manager
PURPOSE: Serve as the primary contact for clients during the construction phase while ensuring projects are completed within schedule, budget and scope.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:Project ManagementProvide construction management oversight, including strengthening client relationshipsCoordinate and direct the work of trades contractorsMonitor project progress and qualityReview RFIs, submittals and change ordersParticipate in project meetings and planning sessionsProvide communication channels, like owner reviews, to ensure requirements are being metMitigate risk to both Nexus and the client organizationMonitor related issues such as safety, authorizations, and third party coordinationProvide select project management support, expertise, and documentation to Nexus as needed, including bids, project schedules, cost reports, and cash flow predictionsClient RelationsServe as a liaison for client, staff and construction management teamsAddress problems and challenges with urgency; collaborate with team Nexus as neededSupervision and LeadershipProvide day-to-day coaching, feedback and direction for effective performance and improvement of project team, particularly Project SuperintendentsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience15+ years' experience in the building systems, construction, operations fieldPublic sector experience, including public bidding processStrong understanding of scheduling and risk managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated success in problem solving and delivering innovative solutions.Proven ability to operate with integrity and to build lasting trust-based relationshipsSelf-directed and highly organized in approach to workAble to hold self and others accountable to drive projects forwardStrong computer skills with competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and BluebeamExperience reading and interpreting plans and specificationsDemonstrated knowledge of codes and contract lawGeneral accounting knowledge and capacityAble to travel approximately 30-50% of the time and accommodate flexible schedulingPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Certification such as OSHA and CCMSafety trainingProcore proficiencyExperience working with K-12 facilities, programs, and priorities
