10%\n\nPosition Summary\n\nK&K is seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to support major facility and construction projects within an automotive manufacturing environment in San Antonio, TX.\n\nThis is a hands-on, field-focused position responsible for coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, engineering firms, testing agencies, schedules, safety, costs, and construction activities from project execution through commissioning and closeout.\n\nThe ideal candidate has at least 5 years of industrial construction experience and is comfortable working directly in the field managing contractors, resolving construction issues, maintaining project schedules, and coordinating between the owner, contractors, and A/E teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nConstruction & Contractor Management\n\nManage day-to-day field activities of general contractors and subcontractors.\n\nCoordinate construction activities to maintain project schedules and milestones.\n\nConduct onsite inspections to verify work is being completed according to plans and specifications.\n\nCoordinate contractors, subcontractors, testing agencies, engineering teams, and plant stakeholders.\n\nIdentify potential schedule or construction issues and implement countermeasures to keep projects on track.\n\nSafety\n\nEnsure contractor compliance with construction safety requirements.\n\nPromote and maintain an incident-free project environment.\n\nMonitor field activities for adherence to established safety standards and procedures.\n\nCost & Schedule\n\nSupport overall project budgets, schedules, and construction milestones.\n\nPrepare daily field status reports for management.\n\nReview contractor change orders and validate scope and associated costs.\n\nCoordinate contract changes and support owner approval processes.\n\nSupport cost estimating and project scheduling activities.\n\nConstruction Documentation\n\nCoordinate between the owner, general contractor, subcontractors, and A/E firms.\n\nReview and process:\n\nRequests for Information (RFIs)\n\nSubmittals\n\nShop drawings\n\nConstruction documents\n\nChange orders\n\nMaintain accurate documentation throughout project execution.\n\nMeetings & Reporting\n\nParticipate in weekly general contractor and project meetings.\n\nPrepare meeting minutes and maintain action-item lists.\n\nPresent project status, risks, schedule concerns, and countermeasures to project stakeholders and management.\n\nCommissioning & Project Closeout\n\nSupport commissioning and startup activities.\n\nCoordinate completion of construction punch-list items.\n\nReview and coordinate as-built documentation.\n\nCoordinate Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.\n\nSupport training and turnover activities for user groups and support departments.\n\nComplete and coordinate required acceptance testing procedures.\n\nEnsure projects are properly documented and closed out.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n5+ years of construction project management, construction coordination, superintendent, or A/E project management experience.\n\nExperience managing general contractors and subcontractors in the field.\n\nIndustrial or manufacturing construction experience.\n\nStrong knowledge of construction processes, building materials, schedules, and project documentation.\n\nExperience with cost estimating and construction scheduling.\n\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple contractors, priorities, and project activities simultaneously.\n\nEducation / Experience\n\nCandidates should meet one of the following:\n\nDegree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field\n\nOR\n\nSkilled-trades background with significant superintendent, supervisory, or construction project management experience.\n\nPreferred Experience\n\nAutomotive manufacturing construction experience.\n\nAssembly plant and/or powertrain manufacturing experience.\n\nExperience managing construction inside an active manufacturing facility.\n\nExperience with commissioning, startup, acceptance testing, and project closeout.\n\nSoftware Experience\n\nExperience with some or all of the following is preferred:\n\nMicrosoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\n\nMicrosoft Project\n\nPrimavera / P6\n\nAutodesk
