Provide operational guidance to the operations team for the operation of the managed pressure drilling system, specialty riser joints, umbilical reels, control skids, manifolds and other associated equipment; deploy running, retrieving, and testing tools and any other equipment associated with the MPD system. Ensure all evolutions of the MPD operation are performed safely and within the limitations of the equipment. Ensure that all well control equipment and activities meet all corporate, local, and client regulations and requirements.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n3+ years of technical background in managed pressure drilling and support systems.\n2+ years of experience in managed pressure drilling operations.\nAbility to operate below tension ring managed pressure drilling system.\nFamiliar with active control devices or rotary control devices.\nFamiliar with hydraulic downhole hydraulic models.\nFamiliar with current managed pressure drilling technology and future trends.\nHydraulic, electronics and mechanical troubleshooting experience.\nUnderstanding of mechanical equipment and machinery.\nExperience at decision making and problem solving.\nExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within groups.\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications.\nValid well control certification required.\nTravel is an essential job function (approximately 100%, this is an offshore rotational position).\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nOperate the MPD system for MPD applications, pressurized mud cap drilling, and underbalanced drilling.\nWork in conjunction with the operational personnel and monitor the well and ensure the planned operational limits in the influx management envelope are maintained.\nDuring MPD sections assist with drilling, connections, dynamic formation integrity tests, logging, and cementing.\nCreate accurate daily reports and assist with the end of well reports to record the MPD activities.\nAbility to perform routine MPD calculations.\nAssist in the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems and equipment for offshore below tension ring MPD applications.\nAssist operational groups with ensuring the internal and external preservation, including lubrication of all managed pressure drilling equipment in storage and/or not in use.\nActively participate in offsite DWOP, HAZID, and training exercises.\nDemonstrate system knowledge and reference material location in order to perform all aspects of maintenance, repair and upkeep on all managed pressure drilling systems and support systems, mechanical auxiliary systems, preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment. Conduct equipment overhaul as required.
