Drafter/Estimator
SUMMARY
Will be an integral part of our design team and work closely with structural engineers to analyze and produce construction documents for variety of building types.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Use CAD and REVIT to provide support to project engineers by preparing project layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, & diagrams necessary for construction documents
Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction, using blueprinting, photography, or other duplicating methods.
Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from structural engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts
Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects such as parking garages, stadiums, and office buildings, working from sketches or notes.
Analyze project documents: Review blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements
Review all bid documents and prepare accurate estimate of project’s cost.
Implement 3D modeling to provide accurate take-off, sufficient details for estimating and future drafting by D&E
Assemble takeoff quantities, erection quotes and specialty material/labor prices for use with bid estimate spreadsheets to prepare total cost of project.
Coordinate and communicate with all other internal and external teams
Prepare sales proposal for client or salesman based on approved bid estimate
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Working & Experience using CAD and REVIT
Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a strong EXCEL Knowledge
Strong communication skills
Able to perform under pressure and meet bid date deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinker with above average problem-solving skills
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associated Degree in Computer Drafting
5 years’ experience in structural drafting design (Preference in Precast Concrete)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform general office administrative activities
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
