Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care (LTC) facility, you will provide essential care and support to residents who require long-term medical and personal assistance. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, monitoring patients' health, and providing compassionate care to maintain their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
Monitor residents' health status and report any changes to the nursing staff
Help with transfers, repositioning, and maintaining proper body alignment to prevent bedsores
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
Assist with feeding and ensure that residents are receiving proper nutrition
Follow care plans and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
Adhere to infection control protocols and other healthcare regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Previous experience in long-term care or a similar setting preferred
Basic knowledge of healthcare procedures and terminology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and patient-oriented approach to care
Ability to work well in a team environment
Physical stamina to assist residents with lifting, bending, and other tasks
Current CPR certification
