Certified Nursing AssistantAkicita Federal is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to deliver direct patient care to the Jicarilla Apache community through the Indian Health Service's Jicarilla Service Unit in Dulce, NM. This is meaningful, hands-on clinical work supporting a federally recognized tribal community in a close-knit healthcare setting. Four positions are available, offering a stable schedule and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in an underserved rural community.Responsibilities include:Provide direct, compassionate personal care to patients including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistanceMonitor and record patient vital signs, intake and output, and changes in condition, reporting findings promptly to nursing staffAssist licensed nursing personnel with clinical procedures, treatments, and patient positioning as directedSupport patient comfort and dignity by responding to call lights, repositioning patients, and attending to daily living needsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment in accordance with facility infection control standardsDocument care activities accurately and in a timely manner in the patient health recordCommunicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and quality of patient careSalary: $72,800 - $79,040 a yearRequirements:Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standingBasic Life Support (BLS/CPR) by American Heart AssociationDemonstrated experience providing hands-on direct patient care in a clinical or residential healthcare settingAbility to perform physical requirements of the role including lifting, transferring, and assisting patients with mobilityStrong observation and communication skills with the ability to report patient status changes to supervising nursesWhat sets candidates apart:Prior experience working in a Native American or tribal health clinic, Indian Health Service facility, or similarly rural/frontier healthcare environmentFamiliarity with federal or government-operated healthcare settings and their documentation and compliance expectationsExperience supporting geriatric, pediatric, or chronically ill patient populations in a community health contextBilingual or multicultural communication skills relevant to serving Indigenous communitiesAbout Akicita Federal: Akicita Federal is a Native American-owned federal contractor delivering healthcare, clinical, IT, and program-support services across the Indian Health Service, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and other federal agencies.
