{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2d8a2cdabb7806b35a6fef5d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2d8a2cdabb7806b35a6fef5d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2d8a2cdabb7806b35a6fef5d","title":"Senior Snowflake Data Engineer","description":"Senior Snowflake Data Engineer\r\nLocation: US\r\nRequisition ID: 2026-167490\r\nPosition Category: Information Technology\r\nClearance: Public Trust\r\nResponsibilities\r\nThe Senior Snowflake Data Engineer with Administration Experience will be responsible for the design, development, deployment and optimization of data pipelines and will also play the role of backup Snowflake admin.\r\nThe Senior Snowflake Data Engineer will split responsibilities between hands-on data engineering (pipeline development, data modeling, performance tuning) and backup platform administration (RBAC, cost optimization, backup recovery).\r\nThey will work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects, and Scrum/Kanban teams to ensure alignment with platform performance standards, security requirements, architectural designs, and Agile delivery expectations.\r\nQualifications\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nMinimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.\r\n7+ years of overall tech experience as Snowflake/Java/Python/ETL Developer and 2+ year of Snowflake Administration\r\nAbility to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.\r\nStrong Snowflake Platform Administration and Development experience, including virtual warehouse optimization, complex RBAC design, data modeling, and schema management.\r\nDeep understanding of Snowflake architecture (Storage, Compute, Cloud Services, Time Travel, Fail-safe, and Zero-Copy Cloning).\r\nHands-on experience developing efficient data pipelines, utilizing Snowflake features like Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Stored Procedures (SQL/Python/Java).\r\nMust have advanced SQL skills for writing complex analytical queries, data transformation, performance tuning, and query profiling.\r\nDemonstrated ability to use Python or shell scripting to automate database administration and data engineering workflows.\r\nAWS experience (managing IAM roles, security policies, and S3 external stages).\r\nTeam player with excellent executive function and communication skills.\r\nUS Citizen or Green Card Holder and must have been in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.\r\nMust be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nPrior Java, Python, or other object-oriented software development experience.\r\nExperience designing and implementing disaster recovery, data replication, and backup/failover strategies in Snowflake across regions or cloud providers.\r\nScaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience; certification preferred.\r\nSnowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, Advanced Administrator, or Advanced Data Engineer).\r\nInfrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform or Schemachange for Snowflake object and pipeline provisioning.\r\nCLI Linux experience and automation of cloud-native data architectures.\r\nFinOps and cost-optimization experience (implementing resource monitors, credit alerts, and optimizing warehouse compute efficiency for incremental loads).\r\nExperience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) information systems.\r\nCMS/Medicare or Medicaid claims data experience.\r\nSalary\r\n$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
