The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Laminator.\nMold inspection prior to production, clean and repair as needed, and mask off areas which are not to be laminated\nWork with various resins, gel-coats, fiberglass materials, foam and other adhesives\nSpray chopped fiberglass, resins and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies using pneumatic spray guns with chopper attachments - release air bubbles and smooth seams, using rollers\nSelect precut fiberglass mats, cloth and wood bracing materials per production requirements\nPat or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using brushes or hands, and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles with hands or squeegees\nMix catalysts into resins, and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures, using brushes\nInstall wood or and other components to hulls, desk and molds\nOperate certain power tools not limited to chop gun, saws, drills, grinders and hoists\nCheck completed products for conformity and repair or modify discrepancies if detected\nAbility to work both independently and as a team member\nFollow safety and health standards – use of dust masks, respirators, gloves, eye protection and other protective equipment as required\nPerform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or management\nUnderstand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirement\nAdditional Skills and Competencies:\nBasic mathematical skills\nUnderstand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirements\nMust be able to speak, read, and write English\nMeeting production schedules\nKnowing chemicals, their dangers, safety procedures, mixing procedures and time limits\nAbility to work both independently and as a team member\nFollow safety and health standards – use of protective equipment as required\nAbility to work 8+ hour day shifts (sitting, standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.\nUnderstand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirements\nMust be able to speak, read, and write English\nPerform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or management\nRequired education and experience:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent - 2 - 5 years of experience finishing - Prefer knowledge with fiberglass and resin, spray painting, composites, marine material knowledge and marine experience.\n\nOTHER JOB DEMANDS:\nWorking Conditions\nWorks inside with occasional outside work.\nPhysical Effort\nLifting 50 lbs. maximum with infrequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; stooping, kneeling or crawling with moderate effort; reaching and handling is required often with moderate effort; pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs.\nPhysical Environment\nExposure to dirt, dust, hazardous substances and equipment does exist; they occur often.
