Utilizes total length of brake and various tools to form shapes in sheet metal per blueprints.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities for Press Brake Operator:\r\nOperate brakes and associated machinery to meet production requirements.\r\nGather, preset and install proper tooling and fixtures.\r\nRun first piece and assure conformance to drawing.\r\nInspect all parts as required by process sheet and drawings, using all types of precision measuring instruments, including coordinate measuring device.\r\nNon-essential Duties for Press Brake Operator:\r\nDocument inspection data and procedures\r\nCheck tooling wear and change as needed.\r\nMonitor production processes at appropriate intervals to insure continued part compliance\r\nCoordinate with programming to flat pattern layout.\r\nDetermine with Quality Control in-process inspection requirements, gauging and measuring devices.\r\nMonitor production to ensure conformance with process sheet and time standards.\r\nMonitor machine maintenance for lubrication, guarding and cleanliness.\r\nAssist others with processing, methods and work habits to maintain maximum efficiency\r\nMonitor scrap and rework\r\nAssist in design of special tooling and fixtures.\r\nRequirements:\r\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Press Brake Operator:\r\nReads and interprets complex drawings/blueprints to produce acceptable parts\r\nAbility to independently set up tooling\r\nStrong computer literacy and math aptitude\r\nAble to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks\r\nExperience and Education for Press Brake Operator:\r\nThree years experience operating and setting up press brakes in the sheet metal industry\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\r\nFluent in written and verbal English\r\nSpecial Requirements for Press Brake Operator:\r\nMachine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.\r\nRequires the use of the following personal protective equipment:\r\nSafety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.\r\nMust be able to:\r\nWork safely in a fast paced environment\r\nWork overtime, including weekends as requested.\r\nOther Duties for Press Brake Operator:\r\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
